Silky Goodness a Review + a Giveaway

by The Surprise Beginning on August 2, 2012

This is a review and giveaway for a gorgeous silk pillowcase from The Silk Emporium.

I am a sucker for silk.

I love the way it feels on my skin, I love the way it looks, I love that it is a natural fibre.

I love the idea of silk worms too, spinning little cocoons of glorious silky goodness.

When I think about them they look less like this:

And more like this:

Whatever they look like, the silk they spin is absolutely wonderful stuff.

Fabric made from silk is naturally hypoallergenic {perfect for those with allergies or asthma}, will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer, and is a flexible material meaning that it will not bunch uncomfortably.

Kimbalikes LOVES her silk pillowcase:

“I sleep on a silk pillowcase every night. I’m old and if my face gets smooshed overnight, it takes a while for the creases to spring back. It’s also good for my hair – it gets less smooshed up and I can get another day out of it ! Bonus.”

She’s really not “old” but the point remains – a silk pillowcase isn’t just divinely comfortable, it’s going to be gentle on your skin and hair as well.

When I received my sample pillowcase in the mail I just couldn’t stop touching it.

You know how it is with silk charmeuse? It is so, so very soft. Like a newborns perfect skin . . . when they’ve just gotten out of the bath! Slippery in a good way.

Sleeping on my silk pillowcase is glorious. Really. It feels so beautiful against my skin.

It’s hard to describe it really, all I can say is that it is absolutely luxurious. It makes me feel like I’m sleeping in a luxury hotel, instead of our very affordable rental with faux-wood panel walls.

Considering the health benefits that accompany the comfort, I am so happy to be sleeping on this beautiful product. Mmm, silky goodness.

Want to try out some amazing natural silk products? Head over to The Silk Emporium now and have a looksie!

Plus I have two Silk Pillowcases {RRP. $60 each} to give away – there will be two winners. Awesome right? Plus it coincides with my first Blog-gy Birthday – perfect timing.

I love the luxurious feeling of silk – so amazing compared to the synthetic ‘silk’ style fabrics that are commonly available. I’d love to try one of these pillowcases, it might stop me waking up with a birdsnest for hair!

We had silk pillowcases, but they kept sliding off the bed due to the silk sheets! So we gave up on them after a while. Sadly. They were lovely and warm though, they hold the heat really well.

From what I remember of it it was the single most beautiful thing I ever touched. From the sounds of things I’m not putting it up on a pedastal :) I haven’t had much of an opportunity to touch silk lately, though!

I have only once been able to sleep on a silk pillow case and it was amazing! My grandmother says that they are the best way to avoid wrinkles later on in life!!!!
