On Saturday night, at around 11.45pm actually, I decided I needed something different to wear.
Sure, I was exhausted.
Sure, I had more important things I could actually have been doing.
But that didn’t matter, I needed something different.
I am, what you might call, a clothing junkie.
I like to feel like I look pretty, and I enjoy trying to never wear the same outfit more than once, on a Sunday anyway.
Sunday is church day for me, I dress up, I do my hair – I do not feel frumpy. {That last one is a rule.}
Even though I have to be at rehearsal nearly all day after church at the moment, I still dress up.
Who says you can’t feel pretty when dancing around in a sweaty hall?
Me and some of my musical gals.
Anyway back to laaaaaate Saturday night:
I was searching through my fabric boxes for a dress I had made in April. I wanted to wear it to a wedding but when I finished sewing the darned thing up I put it on and HATED it.
This resulted in me throwing a tantrum and the dress into a pile {I wore this to the wedding instead} of remnants that I never wanted to see again.
Until last night when I decided to turn that hateful dress into a gorgeous skirt.
It makes a much nicer skirt than a dress – let me tell you.
The great thing was that it really went well with my “new” $2 Boden shoes I thrifted on Saturday morning.
Even better was the fact that nobody noticed that I couldn’t be bothered to hem it properly while I was insanely burning the midnight oil on Saturday night.
A true win-win situation. New clothes with basically no money spent.

Love that skirt! You’re right, sometimes you just have to turn something into something else to make it work. Good think you didn’t ditch that dress and turned it into a skirt instead. Stunning!!
