How to make The Very Hungry Caterpillar Party Decorations Part One
Veronica’s party is on Sunday, the invitations were sent and now I am in the throes of organising the decorations and the food.
The food and the decorations go hand in hand. As you would know if you have read the book, that little caterpillar eats a whole lot of food.
During the party we will be serving the food featured in the story.
So I have created little signs that incorporate the story into the party.
1. Create the cards on a photo program like Photobucket then print them out as photos.
2. You need printed photos, scissors, cardboard, bamboo skewers, glue and pegs.
3. Cut out the cards and a piece of cardboard, cut a bamboo skewer in half.
4. Glue the skewer and the cards onto the cardboard.

5. Peg the card together around the skewer while the glue dries.
6. Remove the pegs when the glue has firmly secured the skewer.
And now they are ready to be skewered into the food at the party!

Man you are good! Looks like it will be an awesome party. I love that story and love the idea of it as a theme for a party. Hope I can remember it for one of the little ones next year in birthday season

Do it!
And here I was thinking that because you are performing in a stage musical this fortnight, you might take it easy with the birthday party! Isn’t it opening night tonight?…..and you are making food signs for caterpillars!!!
Oh you know me!
I love the idea of a themed caterpillar-themed birthday party (so easy to decide on the food menu, although the signs look like a lot of work!). I was just mourning the fact my 5-year-old is probably past it, then remembered I do have a baby who will 2 if I wait long enough
. I’m definitely going to do this.
It is a very fun theme, and not THAT much work, you should def do it!
ooo looks fabulous!!!!!! Cant wait to see the rest of the party stuff!!

Looks good! I am having the same theme for my daughters 1st birthday in November and I can’t wait to start getting everything together. My sister and good friend are super excited about making the cake, in fact I think they are going to do a test run very soon!
The cake was my favourite part of the party, I just let my imagination go wild and I ended up with something I was so proud of!
I made a Hungry Caterpillar cake for my son’s first birthday, but I was completely flying by the seat of my pants the night before the party, without much planning. It’s a shame that I didn’t plan properly and have an entire theme based around the book. Although even if I did, I can’t imagine that I would be anywhere near as creative as you have been. They look amazing – good on you!
Naw thanks so much
, it was so much hard work!
Love this idea! May well steal, I mean take my inspiration from this idea for my son’s birthday next year!

Lovely idea and what a good party theme to celebrate with.
It was a lot of fun, structured without being too difficult ;D
