Happy Days

by The Surprise Beginning on August 16, 2012

Happy Days, we have been having a lot of these lately.

And no, before you start singing the infectious theme song to the 1974 hit series, I don’t mean that we’ve been watching a lot of TV . . . I’m all for classic television but if I want to be watching a show with Henry Winkler in it I’ll be watching Arrested Development and Henry won’t be answering to “The Fonz” but will look more like this:

I could talk about my favourite TV shows all day, but this is not a post about entertainment, so let’s get back to MY Happy Days.

I don’t know what it is lately, but we have just been gelling more as a family unit.

It could be the fact that Veronica is becoming more of a little person than a baby. She is trying to talk more and more often, has learnt how to walk, and enjoys a diverse non-mush diet. She still drinks a lot of milk, but she’s such an old hand at feeding now that it’s more of a stop gap than a necessity.

Suddenly we are able to eat meals as a family, have story time as a family, put both of the kids to bed at the same time.

It really is the small things that make a difference, and I am loving it.

I enjoy playing with my kids, I enjoy talking to my husband, I like feeling happy.

This isn’t to say that I don’t still have off days at the moment, depression is a jealous maiden, but happiness is currently beating “the sads” over the head with an inflatable hammer.

So, let the good times roll.

To sing you out today I present you with the Happy Days end credits lyrics {you will have to provide the vocal track yourself,  ;P }:

These days are all,
Happy and Free. (Those Happy Days)
These days are all, Share them with me. (Oh baby)
These Happy Days are your’s and mine.
These Happy Days are your’s and mine, Happy Days.

I’m linking up with Kate Says Stuff for Thankful Thursday, do you feel happy today?

Yay to happy days. It’s nice to get to the end of the day not worn out and feeling like collapsing in a heap when the kids are in bed. Although I seem to come into my own at this time. I don’t watch much of Happy Days these days, it used to be one of the favourites when I was younger, it’s one of those tunes you never forget.
