A Pumping Good Time

by The Surprise Beginning on October 7, 2012

You may be wondering what the title of this story is all about.

Well it’s the story of my life at the moment.

Pumping, pumping, pumping.

And I don’t mean Body Pump. That would actually be fun. A true good, albeit slightly painful, time.

I’m also not referring to this little 1990′s classic:

I have not been “Pumping” up any jams.

I should be so lucky.

No, but I have been using this “little Bessie”, around the clock.

This “little Bessie” also happens to go by the name of Medela Swing. Though I do prefer Bessie.

Bessie has been helping me to feed my baby while I have been wrapped up at the theatre. I love Bessie, she makes it so easy for me to do what I need to do.

Wherever I need to do it.

Once upon a time I didn’t have Bessie. I didn’t know how good I could’ve had it.

I was such a chump, using a manual pump. Seriously, manual pumps are the worst things in the world . . . yes I may be dramatising the situation ever so slightly, but manual pumps are ridiculous.

They hurt you, they take forever and you have to do so very much work to get a teeny, tiny, amount of milk.

When you are milking yourself like some sort of dairy/jersey cow, the last thing you {or in fact I, as the case actually is} want to be doing is getting a cramp in your hand. Especially if you are doing it in a less than private area.

No, I said goodbye to the chumps game of manually pumping my milk. Bessie is, as far as I’m concerned, one of the best things to ever happen to my “milk mumma” life.

So yes, actually, I have been having “a pumping good time”, because I know how much worse it would be if I didn’t have Bessie.

Do you have a “Bessie” of your very own?

LOL! Great post! I have never had a Bessie of my own, instead just constantly on demand or go without ;)

I have to pump at the moment, because my hours are so long and hubby is taking her away to visit family next weekend, pumping round the clock!
